Introduction

We built an AI driven platform that helps medical students preparing for the USMLE connect with study partners, stay accountable, and reinforce learning through quizzes and task management. By combining matchmaking, daily accountability, and AI tutoring features in one place, the app transforms exam preparation into a more structured and engaging experience.

Challenge

USMLE preparation is one of the most demanding journeys for medical students, with multiple stages (Step 1, Step 2, Step 3) and years of commitment. Students often struggle with accountability, isolation, and the absence of peers who are aligned with their study pace. Existing tools either provide static study resources or disconnected communication features, leaving a gap for a unified platform that fosters collaboration, motivation, and structured learning.

Solution

We designed an end to end application that combines community, productivity, and learning support.

AI Quizzing

Students can request quizzes on topics like cardiology or pharmacology. The system generates MCQ style questions directly in the chat and provides expandable quiz components in the interface.

Messaging and Profiles

A chats page consolidates ongoing conversations with partners and tutors. Users can message peers about shared study sessions or discuss topics they are focusing on. Profiles provide visibility into each student's background and focus areas.

Onboarding and Matching

An AI assistant guides onboarding with a human like conversational flow. Students provide details such as exam step, study preferences, and location. Based on profiles, the system suggests potential study partners or tutors and enables scheduled alerts for new matches.

Tutor and Student Finder

Beyond peer matching, the platform supports tutors offering services. For example, a tutor in India can connect with a student preparing for Step 2.

Daily Check Ins and Task Management

Learners set daily and weekly goals such as number of chapters or practice papers. These are parsed into structured tasks with deadlines, priorities, and progress indicators. Tasks appear both in chat and in a dedicated task UI.
